Kent Bassett is an Emmy-nominated editor and filmmaker. He directed and edited This Might Hurt (Austin Film Festival, Freep film festival), a feature documentary about chronic pain and a radical mind-body treatment that was recently recognized by the HHS as a “best practice” to fight the opioid epidemic. His most recent editing work is Not Going Quietly about healthcare activist Ady Barkan (Broadcast on PBS’s POV, Winner, Audience Award, SXSW, nominated for 3 IDA awards including Best Feature). He edited Standing Up (DOC NYC) about three unlikely aspiring comedians, as well as the Emmy-nominated Personal Statement (AFI Docs, PBS World Channel), about youth leaders fighting to expand college access.
